Easter (April 23 & 24)

As per our usual German tradition on Saturday before Easter we picked flowers for our Easter nest.  The flower choices were slim pickings and we ended up with one very sad looking bluebonnet. Warning, long post with lots of pictures.

 Our one VERY sad bluebonnet!
The cutest boy I've ever seen.
 How sweet and happy
 I just love this face

When you wake up on Easter morning the bunny (who lives at Pop's barn) has broght some gifts for you in the nest and some real eggs.  The Easter bunny only brings real, dyed eggs and later we do a hunt with the cousins with plastic eggs.

One of the items in his nest (will show up in another post soon)

What a smart Eater Bunny!

Dad had to help get the one out of the tree!

 Found one.

Riding bikes with Owen while Uncle Mike watches.

 More eggs
How do I get up there?
 Got it!
 Help me get down.
 We got them all.
Gavin and I made this cake.

Isn't it cute?  It was tasty too thanks to Fluffy's icing.

Hope you all had a HOPPY Easter!

King Williams Fair Parade- Fiesta 2011 (April 16)

We went down to the King Williams Fair and Parade with a few friends on a Saturday.  The parade was delayed and rerouted because a BBQ fire got out of control.  We had a good time and the kids did great.

Oh but the best part was when we got their and Jamie got of the car with some friends of hers, Gavin looked at her and said "Jamie did you get a kid?"  It was so funny.

Waiting for the parade to start:

 Gavin and Alex playing
 The whole group:
 Gavin's first Fiesta Medal:
 Still waiting!
 The parade finally begins!
Gavin really enjoyed the parade and did a lot of clapping!
The best part of the whole parade the SAC cheerleaders.  Oh they were so bad.

Gavin still has and wears these beads.  The parade was a lot of fun.

Actually this was my first Fiesta even too, I've volunteered at the King Williams Fair before, but never been just for fun.  Glad Jamie got us all together!

I'm back... Fort Worth, TX (April 8-10)

Wow, it's been forever since I've updated this blog.  Work has been busy, but is calming down for now and at home it's always crazy and busy.
Back in April we went up to Fort Worth to visit Uncle Derrick and Aunt Tiffany.  We had a good time and Bjorn (as always) was happy to see his boyfriend, I mean best friend.

Gavin of course had to ride this, because he is a cowboy.  But when the lady ask him if he could make the hook 'em horn sign I looked at her and said "We don't do that at our house."

He is roping in this picture.

Then he had to ride the mechanical bull:

Then we went off to the "petting zoo" which was actually a bunch of goats who might have needed so veterinary services from Drs. Doody and Nelson.

Finished up our visit to the Stock Yards with a yummy burger from the Love Shack.

Then on the way out to Derrick's parents and we saw this gem of a place:
And yes we stopped

Aunt Tiffany was nice enough to get him a blue ring pop!  He was tired after such a fun day.

We had a great time!  Thanks Uncle Derrick and Aunt Tiffany.
