Last Post of 2009!

I can't beleive this year is over, it went so fast.  And if you look back through the old posts you can see how much Gavin has changed over the last year, it is truely amazing.  I know I am not biased at all, but he is the cutest, sweetest, smartest boy ever:-)  I will try and take a picture of him today and post it later and post one from 12-31-08.  He had his 18 month check up yesterday.  Good news is that he is still tracking 10% on weight about 15%-20% on height and 50% on head circumference (this is of course from his big smart brain:-)  Not so good news, back to the Pedi ENT.  He STILL has an ear infection, which has lasted about 7 weeks.  We will go see Dr. Moe in Feb and it is lilkely that he will get a tube in the right ear and possibly a new one in the left ear since it looks like that one is getting ready to fall out.

We had a wonderful 2009 and are looking forward to 2010!  Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed year!

Also on a side note my mom turned 60 earlier this week,  happy birthday, mom, lala or schatz or whatever you call her:-)

Independece Bowl

Last night Gavin and I watched the Aggies play or should I say attempt to play Georgia in the Independence Bowl. The first half was really good and boy did it go down hill from there.  I just keep hoping next year will be better.  I did teach Gavin to do the touchdown sign and it was so cute!  I would say touchdown, he would throw his hands up and then just laugh.  It was also extra cute because he was wearing his 12th Man jersey.

I took this picture with my iPhone so it is not the best quility but it was just too cute!

Beautiful Sunday Morning!

This Sunday morning was so nice so we decided to head to a new park in Selma.  The weather was just beautiful so it was a nice way to end my week of vacation:-(  Gavin had lot's of fun and he took a really good nap afterwards!

My cutie!

He doesn't look like he was enjoying this but I promise he was!

Hi

I have never seen anything so funny before.  There was so much static on the slide that he looked like Einstein!

Also, some other very exciting news, over the Christmas break he has decided that sometimes he wants to go pee in the potty!  Mom and Dad are very excited about this and do what we can to encourage it!

Today is my mom's 60th Birthday!  I will have to get a picture of her with Gavin since I got a picture of him with my dad on his 60th birthday!

New Year's resolution:  take pictures more frequently!!!!!!

Christmas!

This is were the toy "issue" really got out of hand.  You know Santa brought way too much stuff when you ask your kid "Do you want to open this?" and their response is "no no".  We did have a lot of with all the things that Santa brought!

Our Christmas tree after Santa stopped at our house!

The "big gift" santa left!

Dad having more fun opening packaging!

Maybe Santa came too early:-)

Dad still working on that packaging....

Big Tonka truck from Grandma and Grandpa!

A tractor, with a trailer! (Thats Rufus on the arm of the chair, yes somehow he is still alive)

Cows can drive tractors right?

I did not take any other picures at GG's house or Omie's house.  I also managed to go all of Christmas without taking a family photo.  Why am I so bad about taking pictures?

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning we went to my parents house to celebrate with Pop and LaLa Schatz.  Again too many toys!  Then Christmas eve I had at my house and Pop, LaLa Schatz, Aunt Cindy Frank, Tina, Owen, Jon, Makala, Runner and Pace came over.  We had our traditional German dinner of sausage, sauerkraut, and baked noodles.  Some how I did not take any picture of this, which makes me sad- I don't think I even did any videoing, maybe somebody did?

Christmas Eve morning (Gavin and his dad were still in their PJ's but for the record I was dressed):

He understood opening the gifts and got better as he opened more and more and more!

A book about tracktors, what could be better?

First houseshoes!

Again, how did I not take any pictures Christmas eve night?!?!?!?!?!?

Pre-Christmas

Since we knew we would have way too many gifts from Santa at our house, Bjorn decided to give Gavin one of his gifts a little early.  It's a set of 3 "Big Trucks"  he really likes them.  Bjorn did not care for the packaging however since it had screws, yes you had to have a screwdriver just to get the packaging undone!

This was just the begining of the toy explosion at our house.  I really think we need a house with a play room so my living room doesn't always look like a disaster area!

Little Model

Last night Gavin climbed into the black chair in his play area and he looked so cute, so I though maybe I can get a cute picture.  Then it was really funny becuase he kept doing the sign for me to take his picture again and again.  It even seemed like he was posing for the camera and would smilie on 3.  So here a couple of pictures of my little model in his Christmas PJs!

In this one you can see that he is signing for "more":

I know I am not impartial at all, but is he just not the cutest thing ever?

Ears

So, Gavin has been on antibiotics what seems like forever now.  He had an ear infection in his right ear, 10 days of antibiotics, another one 4 days laters (he woke up from a nap Saturday afternoon with a fever of almost 103).  Then Tuesday they call me that his ear is draining, and boy was it ever!  His left ear (the one with the tube) was draining and it was pretty much running down his face.  So now he has to have drops and oral antibiotics!  Fun times, I am crossing my fingers that after this we will have at least one week of a well child!  He went to see a Dr. last Thursday, Saturday afternoon, Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon-- thank goodness that I have good insurance through my work!

Breakfast with Santa Devine, TX

Last Saturday a big group of us met up in Devine, TX to have breakfast with Santa.  And, I mean a big group: Me, Bjorn, Gavin, my mom, my dad, Frank, Tina, Owen, Aunt Cindy, Don, Zack, Maria, Alex and Maria's mom.  Well, Gavin ate 2 sausuage patties and a half of a pancake which was shocking, he is not a very good eater as there are more important things to do besides eat, like play, ride tractors, actually pretty much anything.  Alex also ate pancakes even though I kept giving Zach and Maria a hard time about them not being organic she put back some pancakes:-)  Owen and Runner were mostly too busy to eat, who blames them.  There was lots of stuff to see on Devine Acres, duck races, hay rides, goats, fences to climb and other excting things for little boys to get into.  We finshed off the day by visiting with Santa.  Owen and Runner really liked him.  From the picture below you will be able to see what Gavin though!  For anybody who lives in the area I really recommend this as we had a lot of fun and we will go back next year!

Water duck races.

As you can see the visit with Santa was the worst part of his morning:
