Happy 93rd Birthday (7-27-11)

If you ask Gavin how old his Pop is he usually says "93".  He is actually only 63 and at 63 he can still rope, wakeboard and run.  He looks good for his age!  We had cake the Sunday before and here are a few pictures.

Gavin doesn't like the bread part he says, just icing.  But, even then he only ever takes a bite or 2- his real love is COOKIES!

"Wakeboarding" 7-24-11

We've been out on the lake the past 2 days.  Gavin goes "wakeboarding" now.  Yes, we know he is kneeboarding, but since everybody else wakeboards, that is what he wants to do.  It's pretty impressive for a 3 year old.  This kid has no fear- we are in trouble.

Big Boy (7-22 and 7-23)

So Gavin has been asking for a big boy bed.  I've been putting it off becuase 1- makes me sad how big he is and 2- we had to find new sheets, bedding a mattress etc. and when you work full time this is no easy feat.  But last weekend it finally happend and he was so exited!

I may or may not have cried the last night he slept in his baby bed.  I don't remember.

Bjorn's Birthday (7-19-11)

Last year I did a list of 33 things you might not know about me (click HERE to see)  so this year I'm going to try and come up with 34 things you might not know about Bjorn.

1. He is WAY older than me!  (A whole 6 weeks!!)
2. He has never had hair since I met him.
3. Exception to #2 the night I met him we were at a disco party and he had a wig on.
4. He brought me a rose when he picked me up for our first date.
5. His name comes from his mom's maiden name, Bjorndahl.
6. His middle name Frank, it is from his grandpa- Frank Bjorndahl.
7. I've only seen him once without his facial hair- we were on vacation and it's better for snorkeling.
8. We have traveled to the following countries together: Mexico, Canada, Jamaica (our honeymoon) and Costa Rica.
9. He became a Father on Father's day of 2008.
10. He only went to 3 years of college before he started vet school.
11. He was on Facebook before I was.
12. I think he loves his iPhone more than I love mine.
13. He use to be a mixed animal veterinarian.
14. He had an ice "company" in Lake City in the summers.
15. He was born in Canada.
16. Wurstfest is his favorite "holiday"
17. He practically watches no sports.
18. Bjorn is an only child.
19. At any one time Bjorn has at least 10 to do lists going. 
20. He's told me several times that he was the best person in Lake City at riding wheelys on his bike.  I have no way to prove this though.
21. He went me with me all of my prenatal appoitments when I was prego with "Thor".  He only missed one the whole time.
22. Green is his favorite color.
23. He is the worst shopper I know.  He'd rather sit in the car than go into most stores. 
24. He'll eat pretty much anything, but shrimp and hamburgers are probably his 2 favorite foods.
25. He likes beer.
26. He is not a very good dancer.
27. He likes to watch Anthony Bordain- No Reservations and Man vs. Food.
28. He asked me to marry him 3 times- but that's a strory for another post.
29. He had to put our cat to sleep.  He did it home so Rufus would be comfortable in his last minutes.  I could never have done it (I couldn't even be in the room).
30. He finally drives a nice car.  See post HERE.  Someday he really wants a Porsha Caynne though. (Let me say the Altima was a nice car when we met, it had just had a rough life the last 10 years)
31. We've been married 8 years.
32. He wanted to rent a water slide like G had for his birthday, but I wouldn't let him.
33. He's a great husband and a wonderful dad (but I'm pretty sure who ever is reading this already knew that).
34.  I'm pretty sure the best day of his life is 3-3-01.  It's the day he met me:)

Happy 4th! (7-4-11)

Every year we take a picture of Gavin by the flag in front of our house.  This year we did it at the end of the day and he already had some PJ's on.
